Staff Writer position for Inside Radio

Inside Radio, the authoritative daily publication covering the radio and audio industries, is seeking a Staff Writer to cover the advertising and ad agency industries. The ideal candidate must have knowledge of advertising, marketing, media planning and media buying, and must be adept at tracking trends that can be turned into engaging and informative news stories and features. 

This is a staff position that requires at least five years writing experience, relationships with ad agency planners and buyers, along with accuracy, flexibility, patience, multitasking skills, a team attitude and easy-going personality.

Knowledge of the broadcast radio and online audio industries is preferred.

Inside Radio is seeking a strong writer with a passion for broadcast radio and streaming audio and how it can amplify marketers’ messages across multiple platforms on a fast-changing media landscape.

Responsibilities include:

• Responsible for Inside Radio’s daily advertising and ad agency coverage, focusing on creative ways marketers are using radio and audio as part of their overall media mix
• Work with the Managing Editor and other edit team members to develop and execute an ongoing edit calendar of enterprise stories and long-form projects that advance Inside Radio’s standing in the ad agency and advertising industries
• Contribute regularly to departments such as Q&As with industry leaders
• Conceive, develop, research and write smart, in-depth feature stories with an emphasis on radio/audio’s role in the media mix for major brand advertisers
• Write a minimum of 3 articles a day for the website or daily email news products
• Develop and expand Inside Radio’s network of agency and advertising sources
• Attend industry conferences such as Advertising Week in New York and other industry events as needed
